Gwadar builder’s association wants the government to issue the much awaited new master plan.
Gwadar Builders Developers Association GBDA South Zone organised an Iftaar dinner at Union Cooprative Club, Karachi. The event was attended by the Chief Guest Mr. Ahmed Iqbal Baloch (Chairman GBDA), Wasim Akhtar (Mayor of Karachi), Nehal Hashmi (Leader of PMLN political party), Aamir Khan (Leader of MQM political party), Dr. Kazim Peerzada (Vice-chancellor of Karachi University), Mr. Ovais Iqbal Baloch (Director VSH News), M. Iqbal Baloch (Executive Journalist VSH News) and Shahmir Ahsanullah (COO, Gwadar Gymkhana). The guest were warmly welcomed by M. Naem Khan (Sindh President GBDA ), Affan Qureshi (Joint Secretary GBDA ), Mehmood Ahmed Khan (Vice Chairman GBDA).
Speaking to the media the Mayor of Karachi said that Gwadar is an important part of CPEC and builders of Gwadar will plays an important role in the development of the city, it is government responsibility to solve their problems on priority basis.
GBDA Chairman further added that for a long time their association have been requesting the provincial and federal government to issue Gwadar’s new masterplan so the builders can more fast developing the city. He said that the master plan is the most important part for Gwadar’s development, delay in master plan is a delay in Gwadar’s development and because of the delay it is not attracting enough investor’s confidence. He added that the association have spoken to the Chief Secretary Balochistan on this matter several times as each project in Gwadar are worth billions of Rupees and therefore requires constant support and guidance from the government.
Mr. Baloch said that without master plan the development in Gwadar is very slow. On behalf of GBDA he requested the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Imran Khan to come forward, support the association as the association also support Prime Minister’s upcoming Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme in Gwadar. The builders in the association are not only working in Gwadar but come from all over Pakistan. PMLN leader thanked Chairman GBDA for highlighting a very important issue of Gwadar. Joint Secretary GBDA added that Government of Pakistan needs to put more focus on the development of Gwadar, because a smart city will require more reforms consistently. Vice Chairman GBDA ended with a positive note that the problems of the builders will be solved soon, because the association is consistently working on it. The event ended with GBDA Chairman giving shield to the senior guests.
